Steven Charleston is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He was the bishop of Alaska for the Episcopal Church. He has served as a professor on three seminary faculties; currently he teaches at the Saint Paul Theology in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is recognized as an international advocate for both indigenous people and environmental justice. He is the author of The Four Vision Quests of Jesus (2015).
