Martin Luther, the sixteenth century German Reformer, set in motion a revolution that forever changed the religious landscape of the West. From his critique and recommended reforms of the penitential and sacramental system of the medieval Church, to his innovative and constructive vision of the cross of Jesus Christ and the justification of the sinner as the center of the gospel message, Luther's work had enormous impact, not only on the society of his time but into the present day.
