Philippians
Paul A. Holloway treats Philippians as a literary unity and a letter of consolation, written probably in Rome and thus the latest of Paul's letters. Adapting the methodology of what he calls a new history of religions perspective, Holloway attends carefully to the religious topoi of Philippians, especially the metamorphic myth in chapter 2, and draws significant conclusions about Paul's personalism and "mysticism". Holloway draws richly on Jewish, Greek, and Roman comparative material to present a complex understanding of the apostle as a Hellenized and Romanized Jew.

Paul within Judaism: Restoring the First-Century Context to the Apostle
These chapters explore a number of issues in the contemporary study of Paul raised by questing what it means to read Paul from "within Judaism" rather than supposing that he left the practice and promotion of living Jewishly behind after his discovery of Jesus as Christ (Messiah). This is a different question to those which have driven the "New Perspective" over the last thirty years, which still operates from many traditional assumptions about Paul's motives and behavior, viewing them as inconsistent with and critical of Judaism.

An Asian Introduction to the New Testament
As the Asian context is the cradle of many of the world's religions, the New Testament writings should be interpreted and reinterpreted by accepting their pluriform religious and ideological aspects. This book will demonstrate inclusive biblical claims within multireligious and multidenominational contexts.
